The Lost Boys or Bram Stoker's Dracula? Which Is The Better Vampire Movie?
Your opinion. And why? Is it Lost Boys because of Corey Feldman's radical bandana and frog voice? Or Dracula because of the mishapen large head and red eyes? Haha. You decide. Explain.
Hey "cyberlarry"...since you won't be able to sleep tonight without knowing my choice, it's Lost Boys. But your mom sucks way harder than any vampire could ever do. Badabing.
I have arguments for both.
THE LOST BOYS:
Iconic with it's story, the dialogue, and the soundtrack. The story was creative yet almost familiar and almost commonly predictable. How else would a group of boys react to getting near immortality in a tiny little town such as that. Then there's the dialague. "The thingi hate about Santa Carla...is all the damn vampires" as he takes a sip of root beer...Classic!! The soundtrack (a total rip off) is a full rendition of the time the movie was made but still captured the feeling and the story in a way that everyone of the 80 and beyond can relate to according to the movie.
DRACULA-BRAM STOKER:
This was originally a book. A book that started the hype of the vampire we know and love today in the fiction world. This has it's own status that not even The Lost Boys can tread on but it did end up out dating itself. just by being the first. The first of anything can rarely be the best. Most things take many tries. But one thing that Stoker's Dracula gave us is a vampire that had his limitations but wasn't completely un-believeable. He was the stepping stones for The Lost Boys and Nosferatu. He could walk in the day but turn with just a single bite.
VERDICT:
I can't force myself on one or the other. If it went for personal nestalgia, I'd pick The Lost Boys (first one not the second) but I am partial to the music and Keffer Sutherland. But my love for the original gothic culture (the victorians who loved ghost stories, vampires, and werewolves) leaves me to also love Stoker's introduction into the vampire mysthology makes me want to put this story on the pedestal.

Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula is a feverishly inventive movie that often overwhelms its own narrative flow, yet proves irresistible to watch.
