Would you people want to see a Dracula Movie that is actually accurate and faithful to the novel?
I've never seen a real good Dracula movie in terms of landscapes, acting, effects and staying true to the book. Coppola's 1992 version is a piece of junk and I don't know how some people call that accurate. The whole damn movie is based on a romantic story that has no roots in the novel.
1922's Nosferatu is the closest I've seen. They left out Lucy and the ending was different, but there has been no better portrayal of Dracula than that of Max Schreck's Count Orlok. The special effects are awesome. Obviously they're going to have to leave out something to compress a whole book into 1-2 hours. The names were changed to avoid copyright violation, but they got sued anyway (because it's so obviously like the book) and most of the copies were destroyed. But yeah, I'd really like to see an accurate movie. I didn't like the way Coppola screwed around with it any more than I liked any of the other versions. Bela Lugosi's 1931 version is fun as a stand-alone, but doesn't do the book justice either. "Listen to them: children of the night, what music they make."
